Yamaha Avant-Grand Piano

On January 15, 2009 Yamaha unveiled its brand-new grand piano. It’s the first of its kind to accurately reproduce the acoustic grand piano particularly well.
The sound of his piano is remarkably the same as the concert grand piano yet at less than half the price. The price of a concert grand would run up to over $100,000 in contrast to the Avant-Grand which is priced at roughly $19,000. The Avant-Grand combines the technology of the 21st century fused with the craftsmanship and the art of the concert grand acoustic piano.
The piano itself is designed for the serious piano player in particular probably an advanced musician who is currently studying to become a concert pianist.
One of the challenges that Yamaha faced was to develop a process to accurately capture the vibration of the piano string which you would not normally find on keyboards that using current sampling technology. Yamaha’s technology breakthrough technology which gave it the ability to reproduce the vibration of strings was nothing less than spectacular.
This keyboard uses an innovative tactile response system which actually communicates the string vibrations to the player’s hands. Similarly, the response from the foot pedals provide pressure and sensation that is eerily similar to the pedals found on the concert grands.
Yamaha has taken special care in placing speakers within the cabinet of the Avant-Grad piano to replicate the acoustical sound vibrations that emanate from a concert grand.
Yamaha had to use all of its resources, wisdom and years of craftmanship to deploy and create the best it could in the Avant-Grand
The action on this keyboard is configured much like the action of an acoustic grand piano. The hammer’s striking action provides feedback to the pianist and that has been rendered to perfection and authenticity on the Avant-Gard.

The use of the word “eerily” is noted.

Played one. I was blown away. Best sounding electronic / sampled piano I have ever played. The feel was super too. I want one.
