Dan Maynard- Sea of Tranquility
By Dan: Learn About Us on with Comments 3
I created this piece of music very quickly in February 2009. In fact I composed, arranged, recorded and mixed this song in a couple of days. I thought of all the people in anguish, suffering and impoverished by the war in the Middle East and it inspired me to write this song. If you listen closely to the song, you will hear a hint of Middle Eastern music style in the beginning of the song and in the repetition phrase in the middle of the song.

That is one beautiful little tune! That kind of arrangement of piano accompanied by violins does pull at the heart strings. Sounds like it could also work as a film score, just an idea…..

Wow Dan, really like the strings in this one. Do you compose on a mac or other software or is it all inside of your keyboard? Are most of your songs smooth ballad types like these? I play guitar and my songs tend to be in the ballad genre too. Thanks for sharing. Aaron

Thanks Aaron. I use both a Mac and PC laptop. But mostly Midi software (Sonar) with my Yamaha CP 300 stage piano.
