You Can Learn to Play Piano by Ear

Piano Learning System

I received an e-mail the other day from a person asking me whether they could learn to play the piano by ear. Before can answer that question and really had to think back to an earlier time where I discovered playing the piano by ear myself.

I’ve been playing a piano for 42 years now and have been classically trained in for 11 of those years. Although I can read music quite well, my preference is to learn new songs on a piano by ear. I do recall that many piano lessons I had taken as years went by, and as part of my musical education I had to learn how to listen to his music in and build a right that music without looking at the piano.

I really everything I had learned to play by ear through practice and that it was not an ability that I was born with. I learned to play by ear through practice.

There is controversy out there regarding whether playing by ear is is an acquired skill or that some people are naturally gifted with that ability. While I do think that talent can play a pivotal role in accelerating your ability to learn to play by ear more quickly, I think anyone can acquire that skill with some practice and the right teaching and tools.

I’ve looked at a number of courses that teach how to play by ear, but of all the courses I found there is one that has stood out for me.

That course is called “The Secrets to Playing Piano by Ear”. This course offers 60 free lessons online and comes with a 300-pg Piano Course for students and resources, for students who are serious about learning to play the piano. This course covers beginning techniques, music theory, chords, progressions, improvisation, and more! So check it out as I highly recommend this course.
