Memory Upgrade for Korg Triton

I recently spoke with a guy who ordered several memory upgrade for his Korg Triton keyboard. Upon installation he noticed that sound samples sounded somewhat muffled. This guy attempted to isolate the problem by reinstalling the modules and then loading a drum sample that did in fact sound normally.
And then he loaded the lifetime memory which again sounded somewhat muffled. He indicated he further explored loading a very small sample but that didn’t help. Disassembling and reassembling the module onto the circuit board didn’t help either.
It was possible that this person had bought a memory module that was incompatible with his Korg keyboard. Just because the module is the right size and fits the socket does not mean that it is compatible for that particular keyboard.
Several signs will indicate that the memory module is not working.
1) the memory module is plugged in and is not recognized by the system.
2) samples will become corrupt upon loading if it loads at all.
3) it is also possible that the memory modules received is in fact defective.
So the moral of the story is that you should ensure that the modules you do buy are the correct ones for your keyboard.
