Yamaha CLP-330 Review

Today we’re going to talk about the Yamaha CLP-330 cabinet piano keyboard. First of all it would seem that the size of the cabinet is a little bit bigger than previous models. It’s a bit taller and features one-piece side panels. Upon first inspection it is evident that the control panel has been completely redesigned and has a flat gray colored metallic finish. The cabinetry itself sports a rosewood colored finish.

The touch of the CLP-300 is the same as the Yamaha GH3. Now let’s talk about the actual sound module. When compared to the CLP-230 the CLP-330 presence and slightly brighter and crisper sound which features excellent piano sounds. The CLP-330 features a brand-new blue button which acts much like a damper pedal on the piano dampening the sound.

Although the piano sound sounds great the same cannot be said about the jazz organ which sounds somewhat ordinary. In contrast to the jazz organ the strings in choir will sound relatively good but perhaps best suited to being layered with some of the other instruments.

The Yamaha CLP-330 sports be midi sequencer which is simple is best in that it only features the capability to record two tracks at any given time. True to its form the CLP-330 contains a standard 50 songs in its memory bank. You can also get online and download thousands of piano pieces which you can transfer from your computer to a memory stick which should be playable from the CLP-330.

The keyboard is powered by a 2 x 20 watt system which is ample power for playing in the home.
